About Me
My name is
Malissa Elgan. I am 24 years old and graduated from the
University of Nebraska at Omaha in the fall of 2008.I am married
and have two small yorkies. I love working with children and
seeing them learn and grow. In my free time I like to work out,
spend time with my family and friends and go to movies.
Philosophy
I believe
that children need to learn from a very early age. However, at
the same time have fun and be in a safe and loving environment.
My goal as a Licensed Childcare Provider is to provide a daycare
that is educational, organized, clean, fun and affordable to
families in Nebraska. I strive to provide as much individualized
care as possible and to have open communication with every
family.
Experience
I graduated form UNO
with a Bachelors in Child, Youth and Family Studies. I also have worked in
daycare centers as a toddler and preschool teacher as well as a Assistant
Director. I am also a member of ChildCare Share.
Early Learning Program
Each week I
create a fun theme that we explore. Everyday we have an art
project that is related to our theme. We also review our shapes,
colors, numbers and letters on a daily bases. We also count in
French, Spanish, German and English everyday. Children three
years and older work on learning how to trace numbers, letters
and also learn how to write their name everyday. We also play
many learning games throughout the day to ensure as many
opportunities and different styles of learning so that every
child can learn in a way that works best for them.
