About me:
Hi, my name is Megan Jeffrey and I have been doing in-home
childcare for five years. I am very dedicated to promoting the
growth and development of a child. When a child has the proper
care, they are going to be a lot happier, and in return you are
going to have a healthy child!
I have been blessed with four
beautiful children. Savana (10), Landan (7), Adisan (2) and
Jaxsan (newborn). Working with children is something I love to
do, being able to do it in my own home with my children is even
better! I am looking forward to meeting and building friendships
with different families in Omaha. This has truly been a dream
come true.
Philosophy:
While children are in my care, I will provide a safe and
nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social,
emotional, and cognitive development of young children through
active learning.
Play and hands-on activities are a child's way of working and
learning. Children learn from each other by experimenting and
exploring without worrying whether there is a right or wrong way
to do things.
The development of initiative and self-reliance is encouraged in
an atmosphere of trust and structure. I realize that each child
is a unique individual and must be appreciated and valued for
his or her individuality in all areas.
I strongly believe that these children are our future, and as an
Early Childhood Educator, I have that chance to make a
difference in the life of a child.
Experience:
I have been working with children since I was nine years old. I
grew up in a small town, where everyone knew your name. I spent
several nights and weekends babysitting. I was also a camp
counselor at various church camps.
I attended Wayne State College to pursue a degree in Early
Childhood Education. Throughout college I had the opportunity to
work in the lab school on campus, as well as working as an
infant/toddler teacher at a local childcare center. Those were
both great learning experiences for me. In May of 2003, I
graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood
Education.
Following graduation we moved to Omaha, and I began working for
Omaha 2000 ECEC and later Goddard. Five years ago, after our son
was born, my heart was telling me I really needed to stay at
home and have my own in-home daycare. I have always had the
philosophy if it is meant to be, it will be. Well my dream is
now a reality! This is the best job I have ever had, it's so
rewarding, I cherish every day. I am looking forward to what's
ahead!
Early Learning
Program:
Young children enjoy a structured schedule that allows for
flexibility. Every day is full of fun and learning! We work on
everything from infant signing to our ABC's and 123's. We sing,
dance, read stories, dress-up and just have fun being goofy, yet
learning at the same time!
Policies:
My policies are outlined in my Parent/Provider Handbook. If you
are interested please call or email me, and we can schedule an
appointment to discuss your childcare needs.
