About Me

Hi my name is Brandi Sorensen. I have been happily married for four years. I am a licensed foster parent and I also have a completed adoption home study. I absolutely love kids and enjoy spending time with them. My home is state licensed for childcare and I am CPR/First Aid Certified.

I also have a full-time helper named Jenny. She has a four year old little boy and has over five years experience as a nanny. She is very creative and a great addition to our childcare setting.

Philosophy

I believe that children are tender, curious, wonderful beings who need a safe and enriching environment to grow and thrive. I will do my absolute best to ensure the safety, comfort, health, and happiness of all children in my care at all times and will present them with an opportunity to learn at their own pace. Each child in my care will be treated as my own with tons of individual attention and tlc.

Having a second helper makes a great difference in the care the children recieve, in that if one of them needs one on one time we are able to offer that. This is especially true when it comes to infants. We also only accept one infant at a time so that we can provide that infant with all the love and care that infants need to become happy, healthy toddlers.

Experience

7 years of childcare experience

State licensed and insured

CPR and first Aid certified

Have attended pride training and many other childcare related trainings-certificates available upon request

In order to meet my goals, I will attempt to gain as much continuing training and education as possible.

Early Learning Program

We do not follow a specific curriculum in that all children learn in different ways and at their own pace. We do however have a circle time in the morning where we practice the fundamentals such as ABC's, 123's, weather, calendar, seasons, holidays, songs, shapes and story time. We also choose an area of study each week that we learn about... this week happens to be animals. Each day we choose a new animal to learn about and participate in a craft project revolving around that animal. This gives the children a chance to learn about many different things while having fun at the same time.

Policies

I have a parent informational handbook available upon interview. In addition feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Many references also available upon request.
