A Little About Me

My name is Starla St. John and I am the director of My Master's Treasures Daycare and Preschool. I'm a Christian whose been married to my husband, Rob for 24 years.  We have 2 boys, 19 and 14. I like to read, garden and watch movies with my family. We have been in Nebraska for 11 years.  I believe the most important thing to give a child, after the knowledge of Jesus' love for them, is that they are important, they matter. All children should feel safe. I believe that a child who feels safe will be able to explore and learn in their environment.

My Philosophy

All children are blessings from God.  Our goal is to be imitators of our Lord Jesus in the way we educate and care for the "treasured" children that are entrusted in our care.

My Experience

I've been in childcare since 2000.  I've taught all age groups. I completed my associates in Early Childhood Education, completed a "daycare" management course through the state of Nebraska early education training I’m CPR and First aid certified. Before I started here I worked at Sunshine Tree Daycare and Preschool starting out with the school agers, taught 3's for 2 years, moved to infants.  I also worked in the kitchen planning, ordering, preparing and serving meals according to state guidelines. I eventually became a Assistant Director, then a Co-director. I came to My Master's Treasures early on to help prepare to open our doors September 4, 2007.  I officially became part of the staff in August of 07. I worked as a Supervisor/cook until February 2008 when I was given title of Assistant Director.  I became Director in November.

Early Learning Program

We use the WEE Learn Curriculum. Wee Learn curriculum helps the children with social skills. "WEE Learn" is designed to help children make decisions on their own and to learn how to interact with others while learning about Jesus.

Policies:

We are licensed to have children 6 weeks to 12 years of age.  We offer a Preschool program that is a half a day program.  You may choose from 5, 3 or 2 days a week. Preschool hours of our preschool program are 8:00am to 11:45am. We transport to 3 elementary schools plus do mornings to and from Pawnee head start on 42 & U.
