About Me
I am the proud mother of
three school-age children
and one funny preschooler.. I left the West Coast and
moved to Omaha thirteen years ago and
now I can say that in my heart this is
home. Late in the evening you can catch
me surfing the web to find new and
interesting ideas to bring to our
children. Sometimes I will sell a knick
or a knack on Craigslist to raise funds for
our next big toy or outing.
I have had a few different
occupations over the years,
most relating to children,
and this by far is my
favorite. I enjoy helping
children explore their world
and watching as they learn
to achieve their personal
best. The uncontrollable
laughter when they catch a
fit of the giggles, or the
beaming ear-to-ear grin when
they are bursting with pride
at a new skill; nothing
beats it!
Philosophy
I believe that when
children are offered
opportunities that it is
in their nature to grab
them! I know that it is
important for me as a
parent, and as a
childcare provider, to
offer children
opportunities to play,
laugh, discover and
learn.
Experience
I have provided Title XX childcare in my
home since 2001. Prior to that, I worked
with children of homeless parents and
developed a tutorial program for them to
remain at pace in school.
I am a State licensed Child Care Home I.
Being licensed means that I am also
certified infant-pediatric CPR/First Aid. I
complete, and consistently exceed, the
required hours of training each year. I
receive regular nutritional training through
the USDA food program. And I have received
Type 1 diabetes training through Children's
Hospital and am able to provide
comprehensive care for diabetic children in
conjunction with their parents and
physicians.
Early Learning Program
For children 2-6yrs old, I
offer an all day preschool
program in a family home
environment. We explore all
seven learning domains ( Social
& Emotional
Development, Approaches to
Learning, Health & Physical
Development, Language &
Literacy
Development, Mathematics, Science, Creative
Arts). Because
we have so much to do, we
are television free. You
may learn more about the
curriculum we enjoy on my
website.
Each family is offered a
quarterly Child Free
Saturday.
Policies
All families must submit
completed enrollment forms,
a current immunization
record for each child,
and tuition fees prior to
attending. All
policies will be offered
during interviews
Additional Information
I am a member of many organizations so
that I may offer their benefits to our
children. These
include Henry Doorly Zoo,
the Omaha Children's
Museum, Midwest Childcare
Assoc., N.A.F.C.C., NAEYC,
and of course ChildCare
Share.
I look forward to meeting
you and seeing if my family
is the match that your
family has been looking for
