About Me: 

Hi! My name is Carrie Rollins and I have a Christian in-Home Day care! I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and was adopted by my mother who has been an American missionary for over thirty years. While growing up in Brazil, I attended Pan American Christian Academy kindergarten through senior year. I am an only child but didn’t feel like one while I was growing up because we loved having quite a few foster children with us during the course of my childhood.

After graduation I joined an organization called Operation Mobilization. I sailed around the world on a Christian missionary ship called the MV DOULOS for two years doing charity work in over forty five different countries. It was such an incredible way to see around the globe and be introduced to so many new cultures and people! From there, I went on to attend Crown Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There I studied Child and Family Ministry, Early childhood development, Child Psychology and someday hope to become a Child and Family Counselor.

I met my husband Bill in college where he was studying Pastoral Leadership. He was born and raised here in Nebraska and serves in the US Military Reserve. We have an awesome son named Sawyer who was born in October of 2006!! He is such a blessing but does keep us on our toes!  Bill and I have always hoped that I would have the chance to stay home with Sawyer during the day and so having an In-home Day Care seemed like the ideal opportunity!

Philosophy:
It is my goal to provide a pleasant, rewarding experience for both you and your child as we partner together for their future! It is my goal that during the time those children are in my care they will learn to develop their respect for other cultures, stretch their curiosity, and have fun being a kid! I believe that consistency is key into ensuring that the children can know what to expect and know what is expected of them!   I love being with children, watching them grow and being a part of their lives as they start out! God has blessed us with the time and a home that can care for children of all ages and back rounds and we would love to welcome your family to A Home Away From Home!

Experience/Training/History:
I have taken First Aid and CPR classes.  With the Child and Family Ministry degree that I chose, in College I  took quite a few courses based on the well being of children such as: Early Childhood Development, Positive and Cognitive Learning,  Musical Education and Child Psychology. I have attended seminars on Positive Parenting, Creative Discipline and Engaging children through Self Expression. Plus, nothing beats the first hand experience of being a mom!
