About Us
Lucky Ducks
Daycare was established in April of 2001 and is owned and operated
by Paula Sinnett. She is the mother of 3 children; Lindsey -
10
years old, Lucas - 9 years old and Landon - 5 years old.
Patti Sibbitt
is the secondary provider and joined Lucky Ducks Daycare the summer
of 2006. She is the mother of two children; Amber - 21 years
old and Ashton - 18 years old.
We are both members of the Child Care
Connection support group and participate in the Family Service food
program. The daycare is smoke-free and there are no pets.
Philosophy
Our daycare
environment is very child-oriented. We have a daily routine that we
follow but are flexible enough to allow extra time if needed for
special activities. With two providers, we have the advantage of
making sure each child receives the proper supervision and attention
that is needed to provide a safe, fun environment.
Experience
Paula has a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Psychology from Doane
College, in Crete, Nebraska. She has worked with children for the
past 24 years including 10 years at Lucky Ducks Daycare.
Continue to serve in many different capacities, such as Girl Scout
Membership Director, Camp Fire Boys & Girls Activity Director,
Durham Western Heritage Museum Camp-In Director, Henry Doorly Zoo
Camp-out Staff Member and Camp Counselor at various resident and day
camps.
Patti has 12 years experience at a daycare center, 2 years
experience running her own private daycare and 5 years at Lucky
Ducks Daycare. Both Paula and Patti
have been certified in CPR and First Aid for the past 18 years.
Early Learning Program
We do not
provide a formal preschool program at this time. Many educational
toys, books, and puzzles are provided. Children also participate in
music, dancing, physical activity and story time on a daily basis.
Time is allowed for independent and group play.
